What Are The Default Email Settings For cPanel


This article includes the default email settings for cPanel accounts.

Generic Email Client Settings for clients who are using CHI Mail:

Below you will find the generic and default settings for your account. You will need to modify your settings below depending on the domain for your account. These settings are specifically designed for domains pointing to WestHost Nameservers as indicated below:

dns1.westhost.com
dns2.westhost.com
dns3.westhost.com

Protocol: POP3

Server/Hostname/Address: Your domain name. Ex: www.example.com

 Usernameyou@yourdomain.com (Your email address in all lowercase)

Password: Your Password for the email account (Can be reset in CHI)

Incoming Port: 110

Outgoing Port: 25 (not recommended), 587, 8025

Outgoing Server Requires Authentication: Enabled

SSL: Disabled

Secure Password Authentication: No


Protocol: POP3 with SSL

Server/Hostname/Address: Your domain name: Ex: www.example.com

Usernameyou@yourdomain.com (Enter your email address in all lowercase)

Password: Your Password for the email account (Can be reset in CHI)

Incoming Port: 995

Outgoing Port: 465

Outgoing Server Requires Authentication: Enabled

SSL: Enabled

Secure Password Authentication: No


Protocol: IMAP

Server/Hostname/Address: Your domain name. Ex: www.example.com

Usernameyou@yourdomain.com (Enter your email address in all lowercase)

Password: Your Password for the email account (Can be reset in CHI)

Incoming Port: 143

Outgoing Port: 25 (not recommended), 587, 8025

Outgoing Server Requires Authentication: Enabled

SSL: Disabled

Secure Password Authentication: No


Protocol: IMAP with SSL

Server/Hostname/Address: Your domain name. Ex: www.example.com

Usernameyou@yourdomain.com (Enter your email address in all lowercase)

Password: Your Password for the email account (Can be reset in CHI)

Incoming Port: 993

Outgoing Port: 465

Outgoing Server Requires Authentication: Enabled

SSL: Enabled

Secure Password Authentication: No


Please note that the IMAP function must be enabled on your email account on the actual server before it can be used. IMAP is included with most hosting packages from WestHost. To enable this or to confirm your package options, please begin a chat or submit a ticket to the Technical Support Team.
