This article will help you register a new domain name with Westhost.

Step 1: Log into your chi.westhost.com dashboard.

Step 2: Locate the “Domains” section positioned on the top left portion of the homepage.

Type the Domain name you are thinking of using. Click “Search”.

Step 3: A page will appear with various options for domains/TLDs that are similar to the domain name you searched.

Categories - On the far left side you will see a list of categories for various TLD types. This can help you quickly locate a domain name and TLD ending that are appropriate for the website you are setting up.

Availability of the Domain - In the center section you will see a list of possible domains similar to the one you searched. The domain will be listed as either “Taken” or “Available”. Choose a domain name that is available.

Renewal Time - On the right side of each domain there is a dropdown bar with the price/year and options to pay for multiple years upon purchase. Choose the length of time you wish to register the domain.

Step 4: Once you have selected the domain you wish to use click “Add to Cart”.

Step 5: After adding all the domains you wish to purchase to your cart (located in the top right corner of your screen), click “Checkout”.

Step 6: Review your order and contact details to ensure the information is correct.

Step 7: Click “Use Credit” to use any credit from your account to cover the purchase cost.

This is an optional step. If you do not have any account credit or do not wish to use it proceed to the next step.

Step 8: Choose your payment method and fill in the corresponding information. Once completed click “Checkout”.

Step 9: A final Checkout window will appear allowing you to review the order.

Once you’ve verified the information is correct click “Checkout”. Your order will then be processed and completed.

Step 10: Now that your order has been processed, you need to login to the email account associated with your CHI account.

This is the email where you receive your billing notices.

Step 11: Once logged in you should see an email confirmation for the domain purchase, and also a verification email.

Open the “Immediate Verification” email. Next, click on the “Verify your email address” link to complete your domain setup.

Your domain name is now available for you to use.
