How To Export MIVA Merchant v4 Products

This guide is for Miva Merchant 4. Please see the Miva Merchant 5 guide here.

For clients moving away from the Miva Merchant eCommerce option, this guide has some general steps for exporting your data from Miva Merchant. The data can then be imported to other tools like Zen Cart or PrestaShop [available in the Site Manager > Install & Manager or the cPanel > Softaculous tool].

The main items that you will need to export will be products, customers, affiliates, and miscellaneous data. Note that plugins, themes, or modules will NOT transfer, but you should be able to find suitable replacements in your new eCommerce solution.

Exporting Products

Log into Miva Merchant Admin via yourdomain.com/merchant2/admin.mvc.

       6. Click Export.

Once your data is exported, it will be available via FTP or SSH in ~/htsdata/Merchant5/s01/export/

The file will be saved on the server under Merchant5/s01/export/filename.dat where s01 indicates your first store. If you have additional stores, the directory will correspond to the store number (s02, s03, etc.).

For reference, Miva Files are located in the following locations:

/var/www/cgi-bin

/var/www/html/mm5/  or /var/www/html/Merchant2

~/htsdata
