How To Create An SPF Host Record

This article is for cPanel Accounts. Determine where your account is with this guide.

To create an SPF record at your domain registrar please use the following format:

v=spf1 ip4:[ip] ~all
Where [ip] is the IP address of your mail server

From cPanel:

You can create an SPF record for your domains under the email authentication section in cPanel. Just enable SPF and wait 1-3 hours for the change to propagate.

You'll want to make sure that you include IP addresses for servers that you send through like Gmail, remote webmail clients, etc. When you have all of your sending servers in the record, check the "All" option to make the SPF record more stringent so that remote servers will fail spoofed mail more often.

Our Tech Support department can also set up a SPF record for your domain. You can submit your request through http://cp.westhost.com.
