How to add yourself to the whitelist so that you can connect to MySQL remotely.
- Log into your cPanel
- Click on the 'Remote MySQL' icon under the databases category
- Type the IP you are connecting from in the box. (You can get your IP by browsing to http://whatismyip.org)
- Click on 'Add Host'
You're done! You should now be able to connect successfully to port 3306 on your server. (e.g. yourdomain.com:3306 )
