Why Does The SSL For My Account Not Work

This article is for cPanel Accounts. Determine where your account is with this guide.

If you have installed a custom SSL from a third-party provider [besides WestHost] and you run into trouble with the "Activate" section of your SSL certificate, your account may not have a dedicated IP address. A dedicated IP address is REQUIRED if you are to use a private SSL certificate.

We require that you pay for the dedicated IP address because we have to purchase the IP addresses from our provider. Leasing the IP addresses is done in large batches to minimize costs.

You can upgrade to a dedicated IP address for your account through https://cp.westhost.com/ >> Billing >> Services >> Select your service to highlight it >> Manage Addons.
