What Does The Email Bounce Error 550 Mean

If you are receiving bounce-back e-mail messages with an error code 550 then mail may be getting blocked by the WestHost servers. If this is the case please ensure that you are following correct e-mail practices.

Our Support team must verify that none of your accounts have been hacked or that any of your scripts that have access to send mail are compromised before making any changes. You can check the IP address of your e-mail server through http://www.mxtoolbox.com/blacklists.aspx to see if it is listed in any public blacklists.

To secure your accounts update all user passwords, scan any machines that access e-mail for your account, and remove your IP from any blacklists. Once we have taken these steps, our Tech Support can assist you further.
