Several applications cannot operate in the cPanel shared environment, based upon the nature of the server system.

A number of these are either built-in or provided as newer versions, but be aware that you or a web developer may be required to make several updates or customizations to get the applications working in the new environment.
If you rely heavily on applications like Darwin Streaming Server, FrontPage, Java, Miva Merchant, or Tomcat, you may be better equipped with full root access in a Cloud Reseller package. That would allow you to install and manage your custom software.
