How To Use The Service Packages Tab In Server Manager


A service package is a package of services for an account (VPS or Dedicated Server) that includes definitions of quotas, services, and Site Applications for the accounts that utilize it.

 

The service Packages tab displays the following:

  • Data Filter: Filter the data viewed in the table by Service Package's name, description, or creator. To filter the data:

  1. Select the filter from the dropdown menu.

  2. Enter filter data in the text field and click the Filter button.
    For example, if you would like to view all Service Packages whose creator name begins with  'ad' then enter:

  • The table includes the following information on each service package:

  • Name: Name of service package.

  • Creator: Name of service package creator (Reseller or administrator).

  • Description: Description of service package (This field may be blank).

  • Type:

    • Package: A list of properties and permissions that define a package of services and privileges for the account that utilizes it. Each account must have a package; you cannot create an account without assigning it a service package.

    • Add-On: A billable element of specific functionality that can be added to the basic service package. Add-Ons provides "A-La-Carte provisioning" that allows account owners to buy a basic service package and to add/remove specific functionalities to it. Add-ons offer additional disk space, bandwidth, DNS records, Site Applications, FTP service, HTTP service, POP service, SMTP service, and remote access to the account. NOTE: Add-ons can be added only to service packages that are in the same server group.

  • Enabled: The  sign indicates that the service package is enabled to be used for account creation. The sign indicates that the service package is disabled to be used for account creation.

  • Account Count: Number of accounts that belong to the service package.

  • Resource Set: Service package parameters are based on resource set and new accounts are stored in the servers that belong to this set.

Click on the Add New Service Package button to add the service package.

To remove the service package, click on the checkbox next to the service package(s) you want to delete, and then click the Remove Selected Items button. Note that you cannot remove service packages that have been applied to account(s).
